How To Get Here

Old Cabbagetown is in downtown Toronto, at the intersection of Parliament and Carlton Streets. Come by car, on foot, bicycle, or public transit; it couldn't be easier.

By bicycle, take the Martin Goodman Trail to the foot of Parliament Street and ride north.

The TTC has regular service into Old Cabbagetown. From the Bloor-Danforth line, get off at Castle Frank station and take the 65 bus. From the Yonge line, get off at College station and take the eastbound Carlton street car. (And don't forget you'll need a transfer to get on to the streetcar). See www.ttc.ca

Cabbagetown Walking Tour
(Click on link for a map of the walking tour )

Known originally as "East of Parliament," then Don Vale, and finally Cabbagetown, this is one of the downtown neighbourhoods that has contributed to Toronto's reputation as a livable city. Come for a 90-minute walking tour of this community of Victorian homes.

There are few outstanding historic landmarks here. Rather, the neighbourhood draws its charm from the unbroken streetscapes of attractive 19th Century houses, it's unique street layout and trees, and the beauty of its natural boundaries: two historical cemeteries and the Don Valley.

Though this tour points out some of the more important sites, there are many other buildings in this neighbourhood that will prove of equal interest to anyone who loves small-scale, Victorian architecture.

The tour begins at the south-east corner of Carlton and Parliament. Please feel free to step into the OCBIA office at 237 Carlton Street (a few stores left of Carlton and Parliament) to pick up a more detailed brochure of the tour.
